About this tool
Forms reject files for reasons you only learn afterwards: wrong DPI, too many pages, odd dimensions. This tool reads each file on your device and writes a report (.txt and .csv) with size, MIME type, SHA-256 checksum, pixel dimensions and DPI for images, and page count, page size, title and producer for PDFs.
Nothing is uploaded; the files are only read.
How it works
- Step 1. Choose or drop the files.
- Step 2. Press Get info.
- Step 3. Open file-info.txt or .csv.
Questions
How is DPI determined?
From the JPEG JFIF header or PNG pHYs chunk; if absent the report says "—" (most viewers assume 72 or 96).
Can it read encrypted PDFs?
Page count and size are read even for encrypted files; title may be unavailable.
Why SHA-256?
It uniquely identifies the file contents — handy to prove a file was not altered.
Good to know
- Reads headers only; no deep validation.
