About this tool
Add a PDF and its current properties are loaded into the fields. Edit the title, author, subject and keywords and press Save PDF — or choose Remove all metadata to delete the Info dictionary (including creator software and creation/modification dates) and the XMP packet. The page content is untouched.
Stripping metadata is a sensible habit before publishing a document, submitting a tender or sharing a file from a work laptop.
How it works
- Step 1. Choose or drop the PDF(s); current properties appear.
- Step 2. Edit the fields, or pick "Remove all metadata".
- Step 3. Press Save PDF and download.
Questions
Does removing metadata also remove the text or images?
No. Only document properties are affected; pages are unchanged.
Can I set the title shown in a browser tab?
Yes — browsers and viewers show the Title field you set here.
Does it remove hidden data inside the pages?
It removes document metadata. Annotations, form data and embedded files inside pages are not removed; use Delete pages or a redaction tool for those.
Good to know
- Does not redact page content or annotations.
