About this tool
Type a pattern using {name}, {n} or {nn} (numbers), {date}, {ext} and {size}, choose the first number, and press Rename. Each file comes back byte-identical under its new name, with the mapping shown so you can check it. Useful before uploading a batch of scans or photos to a portal that wants a strict naming scheme.
The {date} token uses each file's last-modified date.
How it works
- Step 1. Choose or drop the files.
- Step 2. Type the pattern, e.g. scan-{nn} or {date}-{name}; set the start number.
- Step 3. Press Rename and download all.
Questions
What does {nn} do?
Zero-padded numbering: 01, 02 … 10. Use {n} for 1, 2 … 10.
Can I change the extension?
The extension is kept (or lower-cased); the file contents are never converted.
Is the order the order I added them?
Yes — reorder with the arrows before renaming.
Good to know
- Extension kept; no find-and-replace yet.
