About this tool
Reading a fixed-page PDF on a phone or e-reader means endless pinch-zooming. This tool reads the PDF's text layer, detects headings by their size, starts a chapter at each one (or at each page, your choice), and packages the result as a standards-compliant EPUB 3 with a navigation document, NCX table of contents and a clean stylesheet. Set a title, author and language so reader apps file it correctly.
It is a text conversion: pictures, columns and exact layout are not carried over, which is what makes the book reflow. Scanned PDFs have no text layer — run OCR first, then convert the searchable PDF.
How it works
- Step 1. Choose or drop the PDF(s).
- Step 2. Pick how chapters are split and set title, author and language.
- Step 3. Press Convert to EPUB and send the file to your reader app.
Questions
Will it work on a Kindle?
Yes — recent Kindles and the Send-to-Kindle service accept EPUB; older devices need Amazon's converter or Calibre to turn the EPUB into AZW3.
Why are my chapters wrong?
Chapter breaks follow heading size. If the PDF has no clear headings, choose "one chapter per PDF page" or "any heading" and tidy the result in Calibre or Sigil.
Are images included?
No. The EPUB is text-only so it reflows cleanly; for picture books use PDF to JPG instead.
Good to know
- Text only — no images, tables or columns.
- Scanned PDFs need OCR first.
- Right-to-left scripts are kept as text but not shaped visually in every reader.
