About this tool
Markdown is what notes apps, wikis, static sites and AI assistants want. This tool reads the PDF's text layer, detects headings by font size, bullet and numbered lists by their markers, simple tables by column gaps, and link annotations, and writes .md (or a self-contained .html page) with page markers between pages.
Nothing is uploaded, so it is safe for internal documents you want to paste into a knowledge base.
How it works

- Step 3. Press Convert and download.
Questions
Does it handle tables?
Rows separated by wide gaps become Markdown tables; complex merged-cell tables come out as text lines.
Why use Markdown instead of Word?
Markdown is plain text: it diffs, versions and pastes cleanly into Notion, Obsidian, GitHub and chat tools.
What about scanned PDFs?
Run OCR PDF first (text output), then convert, or paste the OCR text into Text / Markdown to PDF if you need the reverse.
Good to know
- Images are not extracted.
- Multi-column pages may interleave.
